I recently had the pleasure of partnering with MERIT Beauty for an Instagram post. MERIT is the newest minimalist beauty brand that embodies a “less is more” ethos and is made with clean ingredients. It was created by Katherine Power, the founder of Who What Wear and Versed Skincare. MERIT describes themselves as a “responsible luxury” brand and they have created formulas that are safe for not only our bodies and skin, but also for our planet.

What I love most about MERIT is their entire line of products are EU-compliant, which means they have eliminated 1328 potentially harmful ingredients from their formulas. In addition, they partnered with Hollywood esthetician, Biba de Sousa, to create a list of another 73 ingredients that are potentially acne-triggering that they have eliminated from their formulas.

I was so excited when they reached out to me for a gifted Instagram collaboration, because I am a huge fan of clean beauty and I love minimalist makeup looks. Especially when the products are described as “impossible to mess up” and easy to use. Currently, their product line includes six makeup products – blush, mascara, complexion stick, tinted lip oil, brow gel, and also a makeup application brush.

The products that I have tried include:

The Minimalist Perfecting Stick in the shade Cream. This creamy complexion stick acts as a foundation or concealer, and is my new go-to beauty product. It blends so beautifully and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and lets my natural skin show through. I mainly use it under my eyes and I feel good knowing that the formula is clean and good for my skin.

Shade Slick in the shade Marrakech. This tinted lip oil was a really pleasant surprise for me. I usually gravitate towards lip balms, so I absolutely loved this lip oil. I found it super hydrating and it didn’t feel sticky at all. It is moisturizing while providing the most beautiful sheer peach colour.

Day Glow in the shade Cava. What I love about this champagne-coloured highlight is that it is almost like a balm that melts into your skin. It provides your skin with the loveliest and healthiest dewy glow and it looks super natural. I find myself reaching for this product quite regularly because of how easy it is to use.

It is worth mentioning that their packaging is so beautiful and sleek and looks very elegant on your vanity. All first-time orders from MERIT also come with their signature MERIT beauty bag, a chic brown bag that you can use as a makeup bag or clutch to hold all of your essentials.
